Do you
know your Why
? The purpose, cause or belief that inspires you to do what you do?
Understanding WHY you do what you do is the answer to understanding what you do and how you do it.
If you don't know WHY, decisions become harder to make, consistency staggers and you are obsessed with what the people around you are doing.
When you understand your WHY:
- decisions will be based on your WHY
- your message will be consistent
- you'll understand your bigger purpose and do anything to reach it
- you're no longer concerned about what others are doing
- you don't believe in competition, you believe in community
So let's apply this to BNI. Why are you a member of BNI?
The bottom line.....to make more money - Right?
So If we all want to make more money, wouldn't it make sense to have a bigger and better Sales Team - Right?
Your BNI Chapter IS Your Sales Team?
- At the beginning of the year, most of us defined our goals for the year in regards to our business. What were your top 3 business goals that you wanted to achieve this year? in the next 6 months? Some may have wanted to hit sales target and set records. Some may have wanted to take more vacations. Some may have wanted to upgrade the systems or equipment that your business relies on. Some may have wanted to make enough profit to set aside extra money for a life event. Take a moment to remember those goals, and think about how amazing it will be to achieve them. What would that mean for your business? What would that mean for you personally?
- Now, most of these goals have one thing in common: In order to be achieved, you need to close more deals, do more business, get more customers. Wouldn't you agree? Then why not add to Your Sales Team!
- By investing time in Your BNI Sales Team by carefully planning and rehearsing your sales manager moments, 10 minute presentations, by finding, inviting, and encouraging visitors, by doing your 1:1s, taking advantage of all the educational opportunities, etc., you are making an investment in your own business goals. Because BNI is all about helping you do more business and make more money.
- So, by setting aside time each week to network outside BNI, meet new people, invite them to your meeting, you are helping to expand your own sales force. Remember that we're not just adding one qualified business person to our BNI Sales Team, we're adding one qualified business person who on average will know 200+ people. No matter what industry you're in, there's a good chance that eventually, some of those 200 are going to need your services.
- So, to sum up: When inviting to your BNI meeting each week, don't just think "I'm doing this for my BNI Chapter," think "I'm doing this so that my BNI Sales Team can grow and help me achieve all of my goals for the next six months and help me Make More Money."
German philosopher Frederick Nietzsche once said, 'He who has a why can endure 'any how.' Knowing your whyis an important first step in figuring out how to achieve the goals that excite you.
